About Nebraska CASA

A statewide voice for Nebraska's children in foster care.

Nebraska CASA Association is the statewide nonprofit that supports the 20 local CASA programs serving 56 Nebraska counties. We train, fund, and stand behind the volunteers who advocate for children in the child-welfare system.

Our mission

Every child deserves a voice in the room.

Court Appointed Special Advocates — CASA — are everyday Nebraskans who stand up for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. A judge appoints them. They learn the child's story, talk with everyone involved, and write what they learn so the court can make the best possible decision.

Children with a CASA spend less time in foster care, are half as likely to re-enter the system, and are more likely to find a permanent home. The math is plain. The work is not. Nebraska CASA Association makes that work possible by supporting local programs with training, technology, advocacy, and shared infrastructure.

We are funded by individuals, congregations, foundations, and the State of Nebraska. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Every dollar is accounted for and reported publicly.
